Contrasting Worldviews
In reading Leanne Dzubinski’s “Contrasting Worldviews and Their Implications for Missions in Spain” (January 2008), I am impressed with the parallels between issues regarding flexibility and adaptation for effectiveness in missions in Spain and similar principles of contextualizing of a messenger in any North African or Middle Eastern context.

Korean-American Christians
Esther Cho and Walter Chung’s article on outreach to North Korea and 1.5 generation Korean-American Christians (April 2007) was excellent. Cho and Chung did an excellent job in linking a very needy area of the world with a group of young people in the United States who can respond to that need.

Identity Theft
With disappointment, we read Roger Dixon’s article, “Identity Theft” (April 2007), in which Dixon takes the Indonesian Bible Society (IBS) to task for producing an inaccurate translation of the New Testament.

Assessing Intercultural Sensitivity
I read with interest Dan Sheffield’s article in the January 2007 EMQ (“Assessing Intercultural Sensitivity in Mission Candidates and Personnel”).

Conversion and Apostasy
Having ministered in Turkey for over twenty years and planted a Muslim Background Believer (MBB) church, I read Ziya Meral’s article, “Conversion and Apostasy” (October 2006), with great interest.

Education is Not That Important
“Education is Not That Important” by Marten Visser (July 2006) was a wonderful article.

WHAT MAKES MISSION CHRISTIAN?
I was most engaged by the article, “What Makes Mission Christian?” (January 2006) by Christopher Little.

Team Chemistry I appreciated Jordan Ellis’ willingness (October 2005, “Team Chemistry”) to tackle an often avoided issue and propose that leaders be aware of the “chemistry” dynamics and ready to take appropriate action.

Are We Really about Church Planting? Several quotes caught my attention in Larry Sharp’s article “Are We Really about Church Planting?” (July 2005). Twice he mentions the “end-in-view” church planting model/strategy; once he notes: “If church planting becomes the work of national believers, missionaries don’t have to pass a baton; the baton is in national hands from the beginning.”
